NJ Senate Proposes Rebate Bill
The New Jersey Senate Committee on Commerce is currently considering bill number NJ S 2869, which would permit real estate brokers and salespersons to provide rebates to sellers and purchasers. Those Worldwide ERC® members who wish to show their support in favor of the bill’s passage may find our suggested talking points helpful.
Governmentwide Relocation Advisory Board (GRAB) Update
Following the request for feedback from Worldwide ERC® members on FTR case 2007-304: Relocation Allowances, we consolidated the information we received from members and formulated a response on behalf of the industry. Our letter, sent to the General Services Administration’s (GSA’s) Regulatory Secretariat on September 26, 2007, contained a number of detailed comments and suggestions about the proposed legislation and regulation. New Relocation Property Assessment Form in Kentucky
The Coalition has had word from Kentucky that revisions to our former relocation home inspection report have been accepted for use throughout the state. The new document – The Worldwide ERC® Relocation Property Assessment – may be used in place of the former form, and the revisions have successfully removed the document from the jurisdiction of the Board of Home Inspectors in Kentucky. Further details on obtaining and using the form to come.
Referral Fee Disclosure in Iowa
Following Iowa’s passage of SF 530, effective July 1, referral fee disclosure in writing is mandatory for all parties, including consumers and licensees to whom business is referred. The Iowa Association of REALTORS® has developed a disclosure form that can be used for any transactions within the state involving a referral fee.
